Don’t work with Chromium browser

Don’t work with Chromium browser at all, very expensive and only work with Pinboard.

The pinboard client I was looking for.

I’ve bought them all, and this is the best. If you need a pinboard client, get this one.

Great app

My Pinboard app of choice, does everything I need to seemlessly interact with the service. The developer is very supportive as well

Unbelievable how buggy it is!

It takes days to sync and overtakes all my free space at my hard drive. Want my money back!

If you are a Pinboard user, you might wonder why you should pay for a Mac client instead of just using the web site. The answer is power user features. The web site works, but that’s it. Spillo lets you create smart searches and collections so that you can easily find whole categories of bookmarks. Most important of all, though, is the two pane UI that shows you your bookmarks on the left and the bookmarked page itself on the right. This lets you quickly go through bookmarks and see what each one is. Spillo also offers an excellent browser extension for adding bookmarks from the browser, leveraging its own user interface. It’s much better than most Safari/Chrome Pinboard extensions I’ve seen. If you are a serious Pinboard user, Spillo is well worth the money.

Spillo has become my favorite app for working with my Pinboard bookmarks. I use Pinboard for _everything_, and Spillo offers all the tools I need for adding, searching, and reading Pinboard bookmarks. Great stuff.

Spillo has quickly become my favorite way to interact with Pinboard on my Mac. The app is very nice to use, and the sharing extension makes saving bookmarks quick and easy. Highly recommended.

I like the application. It’s nice that it comes with an extension. There are a few things however that would improve the experience. * The app constantly locks up when adding, or editing a bookmark. It seems it’s related to the network connection when sending data to pinboard * The ability to sort lists from new—>old or old—>new * The ability to select a list such as unread, untagged or a custom collection and cycle through the bookmarks randomly. This is available on pinboard’s website as “organize”. It allows me to quickly tag and clean up my large collection of bookmarks in a random order which makes it easier for general cleanup (this wouldn’t be absolutley necessary if I could sort the list from old—>new). * After a while the extension doesnt’ seem to pull in the title even though other pinboard extensions still do

Powerful and Beautiful

It may be the most powerful pinboard client on Mac OS X. It’s absolutely improved my experience with pinboard bookmarks.

First, let me say this is my only review (i think) though I have been buying apps on here for 100 million years. Second, I have been through too many pinboard apps (this one isn’t an exaggeration). They are all terrible in their own special ways. Scratch that, they are all terrible in exactly the same way. Some look good but dont function to the point that I wonder why they are even allowed on here. Others are hideous and dont function to the point that I wonder why they are even allowed on here. Bullet point - they dont function. Although the name sounds like an entry you don’t want to read on Urban Dictionary, this app is a fine piece of engineering. I dont know who this developer is, but he loves and cares for this app like someone is paying him to love and care for *only* this app. Considering how terrible the field is, Spillo is has always been a terrific - but the dev(s) bump out new functionality on the regular. As a perhaps-too-critical UX guy, I have to give props to the people behind this. And if you know any UX people, you know that is saying a lot. Keep up the good work.

Spillo is just great. If you use Pinboard to save and organize bookmarks in any capacity, Spillo is well worth it. Polished app, regularly getting better, a great companion to the apps I’ve been using on iPhone and iPad. Get it.

Spillo always Just Works, which is the highest praise I can give to something I use to manage my work references. Clean, streamlined design is always a nice bonus and Spillo excels at that. But ultimately, Spillo does what it’s supposed to and that makes it the best Pinboard client I’ve tried yet.

I have several, but Spillo is easy to capture, tag, and retrieve. I like the many View options, hotkey bookmark capture, and sync with IOS bookmark apps through Pinboard. DeliBar is good also, but Spillo has so many options, is customizable, is easy to access, with many read, link, and share options.

This is the best Pinboard client I’ve used so far. I like the layout, the searchability, and the ability to explore links from the community. The integrations are also nice! The $15 price felt expensive at first but Pinboard is a small community to begin with and I believe in supporting developers. There are a handfull of things that could kick this app to 5 stars: 1) Allow me to Quick Look links with the spacebar. This makes searching and exploring easier without needing the navigation window open all the time, which takes up a lot of room. It is also a behavior that Apple has trained us to expect and is a bit jarring when it doesn’t work. 2) The menu says cmd + “.” marks a link as public but so does the spacebar, which is odd behavior and something that happened many times by accident. 3) Add an option to NOT mark things as read when opening them. If I open the wrong article or don’t get a chance to finish it, I wouldn’t want it to disappear from the Unread list. Some other things that were unintuitive at first but weren’t a huge deal: 1) Allow cmd+c to copy the url. cmd+L isn’t super intuitive. 2) Add some of the share options to the right click menu, which is easier to get to. Like “Open in Safari” and “Copy Link” The developer has obviously put a lot of thought into this app and I hope he continues to do so. Thanks!

Best pinboard.in client that I can find

And thank you for keeping it updated and for adding new features!

If you have a Pinboard account, you’ll love this app. Feature-rich, well done, and great to look at.

C#J# · 10 years ago

Way better then most Pinboard clints. You it could use some extra features like work with Launchbar and a browser plugin which allows you to add URLs without opening the app. Also the tag support could be made easier by displaying them and allowing to edit/add them on the bottom of every page. Otherwise the program is pretty good, fast and stable.
